Letter of invitation to Budapest Biostuct protein crystallography course on Data processing and structure solution

We are very pleased to announce the second Budapest Biostuct protein crystallography course on macromolecular structure solution and data processing. The venue of the course will be the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), located in the centre of Budapest, dates are 14th-18th December, 2015. Please refer to homepage of the course.

Purpose of the course and intended audience

The course is meant to cover general aspects of the structure solution process in macromolecular crystallography, with a focus on data processing, including phasing, refinement, validation and deposition of the structures. Several of the leading PX software experts will present lectures and tutorials on their software and will also be available to help with problems during hands-on sessions of the course.

The course is dedicated to structural biology MSc students , postgraduates and postdocs with at least basic experience in macromolecular crystallography. The number of participants is limited to 15. Participants will have the possibility to present their own research project in a five-minute-speed talk.

Preliminary programme

The course will consist of theoretical lectures as well as computer practicals. A preliminary programme of the course as per 6th September 2015 is attached. For updates, please refer to the homepage of the course.
